Hello! I am Ann Donovan and I teach art for grades 9, 10, 11 & 12. I am from the North Country, growing up in Dexter and I am a graduate of Genera Brown Central School. After high school I attended Jefferson Community College for 2 years and then transferred to SUNY Potsdam where I received my Bachelor's Degree. Later, I attended SUNY Oswego where I earned my Master's Degree in Art. I have been teaching since 1991 and have been at Alexandria Central for 24 years. In addition to teaching, I am a full time studio artist, owning and operating Dragonfly Pottery Studio on Cottage Hill Road. I also take on historical restoration projects that involve ceramic work. I have done restorations for Boldt Castle in Alexandria Bay and the Richardson-Bates House in Oswego. My classroom is a place where students gain skills and experience through artistic expression. They are able to spend 40 minutes per day dedicated to creative thinking.
