Heather McIlrath

Hello. My name is Heather McIlrath and I have lived in Alexandria Bay for nearly 10 years. I moved here from western Illinois, and I absolutely love living here in the Thousand Islands. am married and have four wonderful children and an absolutely perfect grandson. I have two dogs: Mille Iles, a Newfoundland, and Ophelia, an English Bulldog. I love school and I love teaching and learning. I graduated from Trinity Christian College with a BA in English and Secondary Education and SUNY Potsdam with my MSEd in Special and Inclusive Education. I taught for six years in Illinois and have taught at ACS for seven years as the Junior High English teacher, and this will be my first year teaching 9th and 11th grades. I also enjoy teaching the SUNY JCC Edge Classes for 12th grade. I serve on the CDos Committee and enjoy attending the many musical and sporting events that Alexandria Central has to offer. I have always been a book nerd and love to read. I enjoy singing in church and attending many church activities. I adore my family and my dogs. I love being on the St. Lawrence River and just recently took up camping as a hobby.
