Ashley Weidel
Special Education Teacher
“I am so excited to be a Purple Ghost!”
Mrs. Ashley Weidel joined ACS in 2024. She has over 10 years of experience in education. She graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh in 2014 with 5 teaching certificates including her BS/MSEd in Childhood and Special Education. While at SUNY Plattsburgh, she was involved with and held leadership positions in numerous clubs, along with being a Resident Advisor (RA). Most notably, she was on the statewide student government (SUNYSA) as the Director of Academic Affairs and Executive Director of University Wide Student Success and she was also the Executive Vice President of the student body at SUNY Plattsburgh. Before joining the ACS family, Mrs. Weidel was a Special Education Teacher and Special Education Director at a nationally top-rated NYC public school in Manhattan after being hired during her student teaching. She also taught for BOCES for 3 years when she first moved to the North Country.
Originally from Spencerport, NY, Mrs. Weidel relocated to the North Country in 2021 to be closer to family and because she loves the River, making her summer time location year-round. In her spare time away from the classroom, Mrs. Weidel likes to spend time on and in the River, travel, cook, go out on the boat, read, do photography, play horseshoes and attend hockey games (GO AMERKS!). You can also find her volunteering as an Auxiliary Member of the United States Coast Guard, at the Antique Boat Museum, with the Hammond Area Garden Club or the Hammond Museum. The most important thing to Mrs. Weidel is that she loves spending time with her family, friends and puppies River and Buoy! She also recently got married in May!
