Speech Pathologist

 "Over the years, my decision to become a speech-language pathologist has developed into a passion. Being a part of enhancing another’s communication skills is truly a rewarding experience, and I cannot imagine a different field. I believe effective communication is a gift that every individual must have!"

Michele is a certified member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed to practice speech language pathology in the state of New York.  She received her Bachelor’s and Master's degree in Speech Language Hearing Sciences from Plattsburgh State University (SUNY).  Over the past 30 years, Michele has practiced speech therapy in a number of states (Vermont, Pennsylvania and New York) and settings to include: public schools, private schools, and university clinics. The majority of her experience has been in with the pediatric population where she has worked extensively with toddlers, preschoolers, school-aged children. She specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a variety of communication disorders to include: receptive/expressive language disorders, articulation disorders, tongue thrust, stuttering, autism spectrum disorders, Down Syndrome, social skills, auditory processing disorders, and other developmental delays. In addition, one of Michele's passions is to support each student's literacy growth.  Michele is passionate about ensuring that students have the foundational skills necessary to become lifetime readers.  

When she is not with her "kids" at school, she enjoys being a mom to her daughter Caroline and her fur-babies, Graeme and Dewey; as well as reading, journaling and organizing.
