Social Studies 7 focuses on the human experience in the United States from pre-Columbian times to the Civil War/Reconstruction Era.

Social Studies 8 focuses on the human experience in the United States from the Post-Civil War Era to Present (or as close as we can get).

Both courses of study will emphasize the examination of documents, selected readings, and enduring issues to help students develop the skills needed to build a deeper understanding of historical events and connections across time. Students will complete weekly assignments in addition to sporadic quizzes, tests, and projects to show their growth within the content area. This course can be difficult at times but the goal is to learn and grow as a person while developing important skills not only for high school but for life. The expectation is that classes will be structured but open to discussion and enjoyable activities that challenge students.
