Alexandria Central School District
The Alexandria Central School District is a rural school district located in the heart of the Thousands Islands region of the St. Lawrence River in Alexandria Bay, NY. The village is a major tourist attraction situated on the U.S. and Canadian border, just five miles north of the Thousands Islands International Bridge and Interstate 81. It is approximately 28 miles north of Watertown and Ft. Drum, 100 miles north of Syracuse and 30 miles east of Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
Members of the community and visitors enjoy the many activities offered in this area including the state parks, golf courses, fishing, boating, camping, ice arena, local shops, restaurants, and Boldt Castle.
The school district has a UPK-12 population of over 600 students housed in one building with a staff of 75 full-time personnel. The school offers many extracurricular and interscholastic activities. Eighty-eight percent of graduates enroll in schools of higher learning. The school is considered the hub of the community where most civic, social, and cultural activities take place.
